DMCA and copyright
RedTideNews catalogues 636 Mac programs, games and plugins and reports on their updates like a news desk — brief, clear, with every fact attributed. The site does not host or distribute software; each page lists version, file size, compatibility notes, install instructions and older builds for older Macs. If you believe a catalog page or a comment infringes your copyright, here is how to reach Rosa Delgado.
Sending a notice
Email a DMCA notice to [email protected]. A valid notice must include five things:
- The exact page address (URL) where the material appears.
- A clear identification of the copyrighted work you say was infringed — a title, a registration number, or a description specific enough to find it.
- Proof that you own the work or that you are authorized to act for the owner. A link to an official product page, a publisher listing, or a signed statement on letterhead all qualify.
- Your full name, a physical mailing address, a telephone number, and an email address where we can reach you during business hours.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law, and that the information in the notice is accurate — followed by your physical or electronic signature.
A notice that is incomplete, missing contact details, or sent repeatedly about the same page without fresh evidence may not be processed. Rosa reads every notice herself and replies in general within a few business days; during holidays or heavy news cycles it may take a little longer.
What happens next
When a valid notice arrives, Rosa removes the catalog entry or comment while reviewing the claim. The page is replaced with a short status note stating it was taken down following a copyright report. If the notice targets a user comment, the comment is hidden and the author sees it flagged as “awaiting moderation”; they are not notified separately unless Rosa determines further action is needed.
RedTideNews keeps a record of resolved notices. Repeat submissions about the same material that have already been reviewed are answered with a reference to the earlier decision and closed unless new facts are supplied.
Counter-notice
If you believe a page or comment was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It must identify the material and its URL before removal, state under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was taken down in error, provide your contact details, and include your signature. Rosa will forward the counter-notice to the original complaining party and, unless a court action is filed, may restore the material after a reasonable wait.
